Programer1 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Hi, I want to buy a 2GB DDR-I ram kit and these are the best choices I have for a reasonable price: CellShock PC4000 2GB (3-4-4-8) - Says it's a samsung chipset in the specifications - . A-Data PC4000 Vitesta Extreme Edition 2GB (3-4-4-8). Thanks in Advance...

ooztuncer Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 to be honest - I don't know what IC's are used on cell shock's ddr1 ram, however a-data seems to be using 3 different types: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=50010 If you can check that they have TCDD's on them, go for a-data... Chump Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Having never owned either I cant give a decent answer but I would go with the CellShock because all the RAM i have ever had using Samsung chips have proven to be really good & reliable even the cheapest budget stuff. Programer1 Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 the cellshock has the Samsung UCCC it is certainly not tccd - they're both 2GB kits and that doesn't come with the tccd chipset -, the a-data chipset i don't know ...
Gipse Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 The A-DATA have Samsung UCCC IC´s: http://www.h-h-e.de/pd1145383004.htm?categoryId=55 mfg Gipse
Programer1 Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 so they're both Samsung UCCC, 3-4-4-8 and 2GB. any suggestions?
Gipse Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 So both are using the same IC´s. This should be important for you: 1. service and support 2. price 3. personal feelings... It´s up to you Gipse
red930 Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Don't the Cellshocks have 8-layer PCBs? Heard it could help in overclocking.. dunno. Cellshock's in Germany, though. Dunno how support will go.
Programer1 Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 i don't really care about support and the price difference is like $4 so i'm gonna have to go with the looks i guess ...
