dsaint Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 If it's working for you, just leave it on auto. If you want the most out of your DFI motherboard and Rig in general then OC. Read, read, read. DFI Overcloacking. Has lot's of info about those settings you wonder about. Another good read Noob way. A link to Gogars Athlon 64 Optimizer here makes thing easier. But still understand what you are doing. Read, read, read. Not mater which way you decide to overclock (if you do) make sure you do the stability tests set out in the DFI-Street Guide. It will make the people around here and most importantly yourself happy. Good luck and have fun. dsaint (fellow newb)

dsaint Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 A easy way to check your Bios is with CPU-Z under main board or you can check at bootup. Date at bottom left corner. Read This whole thread. Pretty much if it ain't broke don't fix it. You should only flash bios if you have hardware compatiblity issues. If you feel you must use T-Mod flash CD in Bios Factory here at the street. Add your bios to your sig. People who help may ask. Also check out the recommended PSUs. I have a feeling yours may come into question if it ain't on the list. You'll have to look for the thread. A link is in many members sigs. *EDIT* Make sure always to check your temps when OC. Try to keep CPU under 50c at full load. And that's written in stone. everyone should respond like that. Very good -dsaint-

Also , BIOS updates, which one do i need? dont understand the download page on what one is correct thanks Until you get a proper Power supply you willl never get the most out of your board. DFI boards require a native 24 pin 480w 30 -34amps on the 12v rail power supplies. Check out the recommeneded power supply thread your way under powered with that x1900 and 2 gigs of ram http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...ed+power+supply It might be stable now but you won't get much of an overclock and you proably will not be able to add anymore hardware without stability issues. As far as the bios goes use the one that works best with your setup if it's fine now then leave it alone. Update only when the bios your going to has an added support for your board or a fix you need.
