Sharp Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Hello, What testing have you done? Ran any benchmark programs/3dmark? Using a tras value of 2 would probably decrease overall performance. Use the benchmark programs to find out. What power supply do you have? And remember to test with memtest/prime95.
Candymancan Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Memory timmings look great to me, iwould change the tras to something more like 5 or 8 tho
Guest leo Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Thanks for the responses I thought they were close, I just wasnt sure. Got the voltage at 2.9. I was initially thinking 2225 and the 7 threw me off and I just thought I couldnt change it. I edited my sig with the power supply Sharp didnt think about that. I scored just under 7000 on 3d mark o5 but that was before I messed with timings. Might wait a while before I oc any. get a little more familiar with things. Thanks Candyman will change that now (tras).
thefabe Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 If the power supply your using is the Raidmax 450 that came with the case then it doesn't meet the minimum requirement for your system. DFI boards require a minimum native 24 pin 480w 34a +12v rail power supply. All 4 power connections on the board must also be plugged in. Here is the DFI initial build guide and the recommended power supply links you should take some time and read them. And welcome to the street. initilal build gude http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...ial+build+guide Recommended psu http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...ed+power+supply
Guest leo Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Thanks Thefabe. I do have all the conections for power plugged in. This psu did not come in a case I purchased it about a year ago for my childrens pc. then my mobo when out and when I got this DfI it required 24 pin where mine was 20 so I used it. What needs to be 34A the 12 volt? thanks.
thefabe Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Yes the 12v rail. The modds on this site have done extensive testing on these boards and have compiled the list in the link for psu's known to be of good quality and to work well with DFI boards. Since the boards are made with overclockers in mind they use a lot of power and need that power to be delivered concistantly. If a power supply is not on the list then chances are sooner or later you will develope stability issues, this is the reason for the additional power connectors on the board, to deliver stable power. With yours being under the 480w minimum and around a year old I would recommend getting one off the list as soon as possible since power suplpies when they go may take other hardware with them.
