Sorrento Posted January 5, 2007 You could try http://housecall.trendmicro.com , both the online scanner or the anti-spyware one. Once a system is infected by a trojan, it will never be the same; it disables half the services and reactivating them again once the trojan is gone might not be enough. Remember to be in safe mode, and to delete all restore points.
boywander Posted January 5, 2007 Specific fixes: Smitfraud fix, Cool Web Shredder (CWS). The Ewido (Or AVG A-S now?) online scanner or micro scanner for download. HijackThis for analysis, there are several other fixes for particularly nasty bugs on it's home site too (merijn.org) - some of the above and SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster, pre-emptive S/W. Autoruns and StartupList, very thorough startup managers. A-S: Spybot, Ad-Aware. A-V: AVG, Avast, Clamwin for scanning only. These mostly personal experience, many others.
