Praz Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 The bright side to your choice of the FX-60 is the multiplier. With your chosen ram you should have no problem reaching an overclock that both components are happy with. While a 170 would have matched up nicely with the ram a 165 would have been held back by it. nIne1one Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Yes, you should have done that. You could have bough a bunch of other stuff like 2 hard drives or a really nice PSU and a better heat sink with the money you wasted. He asked for the truth, I tried to spare him but he got pissy with me about it, so there's the fact's. my psu is fine, a raptor would have been nice, i have a wc setup that im waiting to install, i should have went with a 8800 gts now that i know i should have gotten a opty. liek some one said live and learn, and once again thx for the input. mxrider750 Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Speaking of the opteron 165 , i just bought one of those since my naked +3800 died on me. Its 1.8ghz but lets hope i can get it to 2.8ghz at the very least. Mind you this will be on water cooling so hopefully i can push this baby to the limits.
