jfk Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Pretty sure I'm going to do a C2D build with an 6600 and Infinity board. Which of these ram sets would ya'll choose. I'm not a rich man, so the best D9 chipsets are simply NOT in the equation. I've picked these 2X1Gb sets out: G.Skill DDR2800 http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16820231065 Patriot DDR21000 http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16820220166 OCZ DDR21000 http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16820227090 Buffalo DDR2800 http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16820150054 I'm leaning towards the G.Skill as it appears to oc well, uses the D9 chips (though binned a little slower), and gets good reviews everywhere. I'm not as familiar with oc'ing the C2D's as AMD. Would there be a solid advantage in the DDR21000 stuff for $100 more? Thanks for any advice. WintersFury Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Well at 1:1 DDR2-800 gets you 400fsb. So you really don't need ram over 800 if you don't want to spend the extra $.
ollietwinam Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 I thought it gave you 200
