war59312 Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Hi, Well sadly my current RAM as found in my SIG is very bad! One stick is dead! (Over 17,000 errors in memtest+) So I figured I'd start my own thread... Old threads: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...ed=1#post682855 http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...8497#post678497 So now I have to buy some new RAM, what do you think of: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231065 Anyhow, I also need to RMA the old RAM. Yellowbeard, should I send it back for a refund to newegg directly or to Corsiar? If I send back to newegg they charge a restocking fee of $42.60. What a rip off! God that pisses me off! What do you think I should do? Thanks a lot, Will
Thasp Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 g.skill is cheap, their warranty is great, the quality is great, I highly recommend them. I am on my third set of g.skill RAM... DDR500, DDR2 800, now DDR2 1000. It's cheap and it just works, the way it is supposed to.. I can't complain about that. They have good sales sometimes, too. I remember when they were selling 2x 1 GB DDR500 for $200 new. I have that same set of RAM, so I can assure you it kicks butt. Fenix-Dark Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 don't be stupid and throw away money. Contact Corsair and have them replace your ram. Just about all ram from any halfway decent brand has a lifetime warranty, which includes your corsair ram. Take advantage of that and have them replace it. You'll only need to spend a few bucks to ship it to them. ps: I've dealt with the corsair customer service people, they were very nice and my psu was replaced in a very timely fashion. Coors Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 I remember when they were selling 2x 1 GB DDR500 for $200 new. I remember when I bought them for $157 new.
Thasp Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 I remember when the price dropped 40% after I bought them. If I send back to newegg they charge a restocking fee of $42.60. I RMAd a board that a PSU killed to newegg and there was no such nonsense. Did you make sure to tell them it was dead? Maybe they were kidding. flyboy14295 Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Also if you choose to have the RAM Replaced, you would not be charged the fee. I just RMA'ed my DFI because I fried it doing something really stupid and never got charged.
war59312 Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Strange then, it says there is a restocking fee when it gave me my RMA number. Well, I'll be sure to contact Corsair directly then instead of newegg, cause yeah that sucks!
Coors Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 You should contact newegg directly they will probably get it taken care of for you without a stocking fee.

Coors Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Don't know. I think there is only a stocking fee if you return something. Not if you RMA it.
war59312 Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Well either way I'll be sure to get a signature stating no stocking fee before I send anything back.
