Can't get mem stable (4 sticks0

Recommended Posts

I got 2 of these

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820220057

but for some reason i can't get all 4 sticks stable, i've tried loosening timings to 3-4-4-8 and messing with voltage, any thoughts on the settings i should use?

update-tried just 2 sticks still no stable, i have everything on stock and it still randomly freezes and reboots

I have four sticks, I found that I could not run at DDR400 few stability problem.

This was solved when I drop to DDR333 using a memory divider, change a few other setting as well (voltages)

My Setting for DFI LanParty UT CFX3200 for ballistix memory and CPU X2 4400

FSB Bus Frequency: 266

LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio: 5x

CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio: 10x

RD580 HT PLL Speed: Auto

HT Bus NMOS Drive Strength: 5

HT Bus PMOS Drive Strength: 5

HT Bus Receiver Impendence: 10

CPU HT Bus Drive Strength: Normal

K8 Cool & Quiet Support: Disabled

CPU VID Control: 1.4v

CPU VID Special Control: 110%

DRAM Voltage Control: 2.70v

SB PCIE Voltage: 1.8v

NB Analogue Voltage: 1.34v

LDT Bus Voltage: 1.34v

NB Core Voltage: 1.34v

DRAM Frequency Set: 133 = RAM/FSB:05/06

CPC: Auto

CAS (Tcl): 2.5

Trcd: 3

Tras: 7

Trp: 3

Trc: 10

Trfc: 12

Trrd: 3

Twr: 3

Twtr: 2

Trwt: 3

Tref: 3120

Bank Interleaved: Enabled

Errata 94: Disabled

Errata 123: AUTO

Odd Divisor Correct: Disabled

DQS Skew Control: Auto

DQS Skew Value: N/A

DRAM Drive Strength: Auto

DRAM Data Drive Strength: Auto

DIMM 1/2 Clock Timing Skew: Auto

DIMM 3/4 Clock Timing Skew: Auto

Max Async Latency: 8ns

Read Preamble Time: 6ns

IdleCycle Limit: 128clks

Dynamic Counter: Disabled

R/W Queue Bypass: 16x

Bypass Max: 4x

Burst Length: 4

The TXCLK Gating and PCIE Common Clock are normally disabled by default; I found an increase in video performance setting these 2 to enable

Set the 2 GFX slot power limits to 130W, and enabled 10% extra current to the GFX slots, I found this helped with card overclocking also.

I hope this help you

i've been using these mem settings and they seem to be working, hasn't crashed for 24 hours which is good for me, i'll be runing prime95 and memtest to check

ps-thanks the help

I think it says in the manual, that when you run four sticks of memory the speed does drop to 333. Of course there might be some exceptions to this.

after recently reading manual it states that four double sided sticks drop bk to 2t and 333 mhz where 4x single sided sticks stay @1t and 400 mhz

wierd i know

i cant get my 2x 512 mb sticks to run at stock either it just freezes on desktop or the final windows loading screen and simple programs use 100 % cpu when idle
