arfett Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Anyone have any suggestions on the best temperature monitor to use with the sensors on this mobo? I'd like to be able to check the actual temperature of my cores as well rather than a sensor on the motherboard.
danger55 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I use CoreTemp to monitor cpu temps. Mainly because it tends to show the highest temps of most of the other programs I've used. If coretemp is showing good temp's, then I know all is well. Also I think coretemp measures straight off the die. I'm not exactly sure but someone else here may be able to tell you. SmartGuardian is also pretty good. I guess it deosn't hurt to compare results from a few different ones (Speedfan included) just to get a good idea of the differences.. danger55 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 But what's the go with MBM and this motherboard. I thought they weren't compatible because I was getting problems whenever I tried to run the program.

dragosmp Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Another soft would be speedfan, click HERE to download. It works fine for me and with this you can control the fan speeds. In this version, the 4.31 it reads the temp directly from the CPU built-in senzor, so I suppose it's quite accurate.
thejamesvolta Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I use Everest for everything, including temp monitoring.
arfett Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Thanks. I think I'll stick with CoreTemp.
JoshB Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I am using CoreTemp and SmartGuardian. On Coretemp I am getting Core0 at 35Cel and Core1 at 30Cel. SmartGuardian reads CPU at 48Cel.. Big difference. The unusual thing is that the Bios temps for CPU and Chipset is very close to SmartGuardians readouts.
