AKHandyman Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Just curious if anyone has installed this new BIOS. Haven't seen anyone talk about it. Are there new improvements we should be concerned with?

fmc_boss Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 RGone mentioned that it was basically the same as the 'C15', apart from the couple of additions in the release notes.
hewi- Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 My board died after flashing to the 12/01/06 Bios, dunno if it was the bios itself or just very bad luck. The board is up and running now but it needed hotflashing and several other tweaks including alot of praying and cursing Dont think i'll flash the bios again ever...last time was too nerve wrecking for me. shinpei Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I update bios to 97TIDC01. The purpose was "Fixed 4GB Memory detect error issue under 32Bit Windows". However, the purpose was not achieved. Besides, is there the memory of 4G being tested with 32bit OS?

But if you put 4 x1gb sticks in, windows will recognise 2.00G only with this board .
AKHandyman Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Will this BIOS recognize 4 GB RAM with WinXP Pro/64Bit edition? Also, will two (2) Dual channel kits (2x1GBx2) RAM work in the four slots together or do they all have to be 1GB modules? Looking at building a new computer for a friend who wants 4GB RAM with an nVidia XFX 8800GTX 768MB video card, coupled with an Intel X6800 C2D Extreme. I told her to wait until the ICFX3200-T2R/G comes out, but she wants it now! Anyone know? Happy, you know?
calvintang Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 not sure, but until a new bios comes out with the fix, my version of xp can recognise 2gb of ram only when i put in 4 gigs of ram, usually if it works well it will only recognise 3.2gb of it. best bet is to wait for the new board. jzono1 Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 There's a 4GB issue with memory mappings - and it's being looked into. Use the search function here, you'll find the threads about it
