RAM Dividers on nForce590

Okay, so far I've only gotten my CPU speed from 2.0 to 2.18 because I seem to be too dumb to find the setting for controlling the RAM divider (BIOS for LP UT NF590 SLI-m2 is really bloated). I just don't want to go any further overclocking because my RAM is supposed to be ddr800 and its now running at 866. I know this OCZ ram can go higher, but I want to keep the RAM down until I'm finished finding the limit of the CPU.

I don't really understand RAM dividers or RAM ratio things anyway...

If you go to http://www.angrygames.com/nf590sli-2.htm that link on page two, you will see this pic http://www.angrygames.com/nf590sli/lp_nf590sli_bios-8g.jpg of the DRAM settings screen.

If you look at the Memory Clock Value/Limit, as I understand it, that is your memory clock/divider. If I have it right (and according to CPU-Z), the 400 setting is the CPU Clock (multiplier x HTT) /6 divider. As the speeds go lower, the divider value is higher.

I don't have the info I found earlier when i was playing with mine to tell you specifically which is which unfortunately.

If you try the 333 divider and it works, let me know, i have had problems when trying at it locks up and won't even post when i change to that value.

oh, and read through the Overclocking guide. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20823

You will have to extrapolate *i love that word* as it doesn't specifically address some of the settings on the NF590, but it worked for me to get back in the flow of things. I hand't really overclocked at all in over 4 years.

Well, I was really getting into the overclocking this afternoon, pushed my CPU to 2.8GHz. Played Oblivion for a few minutes, ran some benchmarks, seems really stable. Core temps still at 31C.

But here's where the crappy part comes... I was able to use the 333MHz setting for the ram when my FSB was around 240-255, but as soon as I got it up to about 260, it wouldn't post, so I had to set the ram back down to 266. So the actual speed of the ram is now 349MHz. It could be my timings or something that's not allowing me to overclock the ram more. I have all the timings and latency things on auto but I have no idea how they work or what you're supposed to do with them when you overclock. What do you think my timings should look like?

Oh, technically the system did post when I set the divider thing to the 333Mhz setting, but it said "warning: system is running in safe mode, press F1 to continue." Then when you hit F1, it goes back to stock frequencies. Is there some way to disable that, because I totally know the ram can take it.

Right now my FSB is at 280, HT multi at 3x, and ram setting at 266MHz, but it's really running at 349Mhz.
