Thasp Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Starting price is $55. Starting not meaning it can only go up. Here's a froogle link to it, check prices before you buy from me as you may very well find a better deal. I'll have pictures tomorrow. It was used for a venice 3000+, an opteron 165 at 2.8 GHz, and now a core 2 duo at 3.6... it's been used for an x800gto2 graphics card with r430 core and one with r480 core overclocked beyond the X850XTXL, which was quite a powerful beast in its day. You've probably heard it sucks compared to the top ones on the list when it comes to SLI + dual core + five HDs. That's probably true.. it's also true that it's the luck of the draw with them as far as DOA/dead in a week goes. I have no SLI to test with, although I did do my best to load eight hard drives at once in an opteron at 2.7 GHz, with a gig of RAM. I copied files over from a two HD raid 0 array to a 6 HD LVM volume.. I did seven transfers at the same time, while running dnetc which is distributed computing that uses all the CPU. It survived, as did the data. I can't recommend this PSU for anything I haven't tried with it since it is not highly recommended in the forum, but I can for what I have used it for. The PSU fan never seems to throttle up.. if this worries you, I suggest putting two of the rings I will send you with this PSU, taping them to the back of your case right above and below where the PSU is mounted, then taking an 80mm fan and twist tying it through the PSU so it is tightly mounted against the two soft rings. You won't hear case resonance and it'll help with air exhaust. I don't run it this way anymore, I did in the summer so that it wouldn't get too hot, when room temp went over 90F. As for buyer safety, I can show audiogon feedback for $1600 buy and $400 buy, ebay feedback for 12 buys, and private sales in this forum and another IRC channel. I'm not here to dump crap on you that I've destroyed, and in the case that it does happen, I'll be understanding, not ignore your PMs. Also for sale, G.Skill 2x1 GB 6400CL4D. It uses elpida chips. $190, used from the 15th of november until last week. Check froogle before you buy from me. Remember froogle makes no distinction between 1 gig and 2 gig, so don't look at $150 and yell at me for trying o rip you off. You might notice I say they suck in my sig. Well, on the P5WDH, all RAM sucks! You can't run the FSB high with the RAM high too.. to get any overclocking out of my Micron D9 binned at 1 GHz, or this binned at 800, I have to have the CPU at 2.6-2.9 GHz. No thanks, I'd rather have 3.6 GHz and slower RAM, so I'm selling off this RAM and keeping the D9 incase I ever decide to buy a real motherboard. When I do, I'd rather have the overclockable RAM. I don't have any memtest for it right now. This, unlike the PSU, is available for immediate sale, however, I refuse to sell it before memtesting. This is my only core 2 duo system, and I'm sick as hell so I don't want to run memtest all day instead of using the computer for entertainment while I am home sick. Tomorrow, I'll give them at least six hours of memtest and post pictures of the RAM and the passing memtest to make sure they survive that abuse before I send them out. If they don't, I'll edit my post removing this part.
Thasp Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 http://thasp.net:4000/memory/ http://thasp.net:4000/memory/DSC06374.JPG 6+ hours of memtest, 11 passes. I have no LCD on the camera, it cracked so I can't tell when the shots look good or not, so I take with all different flash settings.. the first few are probably awful. Thasp Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 $50 PSU, $180 RAM edit: why is it making lowercase the S and the U in PSU, and the A and the M in RAM? edit 2: it doesn't do it when I include more in the post.
Coors Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 FYI, I have the same PSU and it handled a opty [email protected] 2.7 and SLI 7600gt's and three hardrives just fine.

Thasp Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 The PSU is taken off the list, OCZ sent me a second dead one that's worse than the first one(lasted three minutes vs one week). So I have to keep the Antec for the time being. However, the RAM is still up for sale, if anyone is still interested.
