Angry_Games Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Just read a very good review of our board, which is of course in my opinion the best overall stable overclocking Intel board on the market (we've shown more consistent, stable overclocks than any other board....and that is because we don't consider CPU-Z validation or "suicide screenshots" as a valid stability test) Here's the review: http://techgage.com/article/dfi_infinity_975xg/1 Got to say I never really heard of Techgage before, but their review covers pretty much everything I could say about our board (except the overclocking part...but you have to expect Rgone and I to be able to overclock DFI boards better than anyone else, and the review is correct in the abilities of the board with the original bios compared to the newer beta bioses that really open up the clocking). I think I'll be visiting TechGage a bit more now to see what else they say (it's hard to find a trustworthy, truly objective review site these days, so we'll see if they fit the bill like LegitReviews.com does) My forum post to alert any of them that need some help/overclocking love: http://forums.techgage.com/showthread.php?p=10860#post10860
Polizei Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I thought it was cool that they recommended the Street in their review. They hit on the only 2 beefs I personally have with this board - only 4 SATA ports and a poor placement of the power connectors. Everything else is great. Guest Deathspawner Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Thanks a lot for the linkage Travis, it's appreciated. We strive to deliver accurate and informative reviews.. because that's what people want. I am glad we are fitting that bill. It's a very solid board. Earlier this year, I was worried with the lack of killer Intel DFI boards, but am glad to see that being a non-existent problem now. After seeing what this board is capable of, I look forward to seeing what the RD600 and 680i boards bring to the table.
Angry_Games Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I can remember everyone going on and on about how this board or that board was gonna be this great overclocker especially compared to our Infinity 975X/G, yet we were showing consistent 3600Mhz overclocks from just about anyone and everyone that had our board (and following the OCDB strict rules and guidelines) and only a couple of "suicide screens" from all the other competitor boards...and it is still pretty much that way now. We've just not seen any consistent clocks with another board like we have with this 975X/G, and it has gotten even better with the latest bioses. Supposedly Taiwan is sending direct the RD600 board to Rgone and I, so we'll see (but otherwise, you know how we hate speculation and refuse to even allow it here). Btw, I take it you already have a contact @ DFI San Jose to get these boards on review?
ColdShadow Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Hey! Awesome of you to respond over at TG! I know I'm VERY pleased with my LANParty board, and the new platform steps up even more. Even though I don't see myself getting a new rig any time soon, seeing DFI come out with another powerhouse board is great. The performance scene wouldn't be as strong without DFI, or this community. Just wanted to say thanks!
