Guest r3d c0m3t Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 This is a difficult one for me to say the least. One on hand, I want to go out and buy an X1900XT CE card. On the other hand I want the X360 HD-DVD add-on with several movies. To make matters worse, I wanted to go out and buy some clothes because I don't do that too often, which is pretty weird. If I'm lucky I can manage to do all three and thensome, not by myself of course.

red930 Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I want snow. And not just snow, but snowing snow. Lightly preferably, and puffy. I also want there to be 8 inches on the ground when I wake up Christmas morn (okay...11AM), and I want NO plowing to be done near my house to ruin it and turn it to slush. Other than that I'd like to hang out with friends and just have a good time. In fact, if the power went out that'd be even better. I'm not joking by the way, it seems the best times I have are with friends and no TV or computers to waste the day on. Again, no joke. My thoughts exactly; here in WV we haven't had a white Christmas in over a decade. The last real snow we've had was the blizzard of 95 Except maybe the snowstorm we had mid-October of last year (only lasted a day though). UncleDavid218 Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I already got my laptop for my Birthday, and while I paid for most of it, my mom ended up paying a little over $600 for the rest of it... So that's good enough for me. Plus, what do you get for the kid that has it all!?
red930 Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Why would you want the HD-DVD add-on? It's so useless.. I know that I, for one, wouldn't shell out $200 bucks just to get an HD-DVD player.. couple that with the movies.. I'll stick with my DVD copies, it may be of poorer image quality but I can live with that. Of course that's just your decision Need to buy games for my 360 that's sitting unused... and clothes. $25 bucks for an AE hoodie? Clothes are so damned expensive.. I got the hoodie I used to wear everyday for $4 and it was XL, classy lady! lol jk

I couldn't agree with you more my friend, however some of us (me in particularly) don't have the treasure, so I'll suffice for material things
old_geekster Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Plus, what do you get for the kid that has it all!? I agree UncleDavid. What could an old_geekster need. I got my new computer in May. My wife and I aren't buying for each other this year. We simply have been buying what we want all through the year. I just bought Half-Life 2 - Game of the year and a Sandisk 2GB U3 Drive. Also, we are going to buy some furniture; a recliner for me and an end-table for her. We have three kids and spouses and nine grandkids. We spend a fixed amount on each one of them. Also, we buy for my parents. This does away with most of the discretionary funds for the year!
n_w95482 Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Things that I would like to have would be (in no particular order): high-end Merom chip for my laptop, 7900 GS video card for my laptop, the Monsoon TEC cooler (probably will buy in a couple of days anyway ), a properly working LCD monitor for my desktop, an Xbox 360, and an 8800 GTS/GTX. Most/all of those I won't be getting though, so it'll be a wishlist for next year or 2008. My parents asked me today what I would like, but I can't think of anything that I want that they would actually buy (they tend to be <$200 with stuff). I'll probably end up with clothes or gift certificates. My mom told me that she was getting me a Newegg gift certificate so I know at least that much. Fenix-Dark Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 For my winter marketing holiday of choice (which isn't necessarily Christmas) I'd like to get these ear sleeves for my Shure e3c earbuds http://shure.com/PersonalAudio/Products/Ac...ple_flange_slee I'm also contemplating purchasing an opty 165, if those rumors of a $11 instant rebate are true I may not be able to resist. Edit: wouldn't mind some narcotics either, Crohn's disease can be quite painful at times :/
