8800 GTX PSU requirements

How low can one go in terms of wattage for one 8800 GTX? Nvidia says 450 watts for a single card, but the recommended values are usually too lenient. I just bought my Corsair HX 520 and I kind of didn't want to upgrade again, if I can't even hope to run a 8800 on it I'll settle for one of the upcoming 8600s.

Runs fine on both a PC Power & Cooling 510 ASL and an Antec True Power Trio 550.

Not sure on the Corsair, I'd assume that since the 620 is more powerful than it seems that the 550 is similar, but I really don't know.

In this thread the corsair dude said they lab tested the 520HX with a 8800GTX and it was all gravy.

Though I think his results are worthless if the entire system wasn't OC'd to high hell, providing at least a margin of error over a stock 8800GTX. E-mail him and ask about his test methods. Thats probably the best way to get your questions answered. I don't know if anyone has nagged him yet so go break him in

Otherwise on paper you should be able to handle it comfortably...
