Campari_Kurita Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Hi, my raid 0 just stopped working after i tried to run it at a different controller, is there any tool where i can try to repair the raid? The Raid0 Is Attached to the NVRaid Controller and i tried to attach it to the Gigabyte Lan controller of my Intel PC....is there any way the Gigabyte controller maybe caused the damage? Guest thespin Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I am not sure you can just switch Raid controllers like that without recreating the Raid array and restoring from a backup ... but I may be wrong ...
red930 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Probably dead if the new controller was configured while the drives were attached.

Why would you want to attach it to the Lan Controller? What did you think it was going to do, when attaching it to the Lan controller? Guest Kobalt Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I don't know if it will work on RAID, but try testdisk. http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk That saved my bacon a time or two. Then I started to backup data to new drives. It is free, and in my case, it worked great.
kingdingeling Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 if you haven't formatted or anything, then it should work just fine when you replug it into your old controller.

kitfit1 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 If you did'nt do anything, then it could be that you have just got the drives plugged in the wrong way round. Swap the drives onto each others headers.
red930 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 You can swap two drives on different SATA ports when using the nVidia controller on the nF4 boards. As long as the ports are turned on and set to RAID, the array doesn't care. It sounds like the two drives were "configured" on the Gigabyte controller which destroyed the nVidia array information. If this was done then the array is Clementine(lost and gone forever).
