No, i don't hate Sony.

Let's see on which format Blue Ray or HD-DVD the major film companies will release their films.

Like with the VHS the x-rated movie business can influence the acceptation (success) of one of the formats.

The best thing would be a hybrid player / writer who supports both formats.

That would be an interesting licencing negotiation... Just give me both... :shake: I'll quote Wayne on this one... "And monkey might fly out of my butt..." (is that the right movie?)

Does that mean porn killed betamax?

That and the fact that Sony kept the reins to tight on their "propietary" tech. Even though Betamax had better quality, the Sony habit of not letting others play in their sandbox and the length limitation (which might have been overcome) led to the demise of Betamax.

Sony is successful when they let other companies in on new tech (the CD) and fails when they do not (Betamax, MiniDisk, and soon to be Blu-Ray).
