Thanks for the positive replies everyone! UD218, I'm sure the RX7 project will be just as rewarding as the Nissan one. Did you ever get a Dyno sheet for that little drifter?

Nice golf dab! I should find out today about the old MkII golf GTi I offered to dispose of for someone... nice car, just needs that rubber mount for the carb and some TLC... They've let it sit behind my work for about 6 months, and i offered to get it out of there this week, so we'll see if they'll take $300 for it :-) I'll post pics if I get it!

If you need Golf Parts, let me know, I'm in Golf Land over here :-)

Wow, I'm looking forward to your thread! Lots of Pics please!! I read a Mk.II resto project this morning on Vortex, you might enjoy it: Second Chance GTI Of course I expect parts will be easier for you than they were for him, as you said you're in the Land of Golfs!

I'd love some euro parts, and I know others that would too but international shipping makes it a little difficult (read: painfully expensive), however if I have trouble finding anything here I will keep the offer in mind!

A friend of mine got his Mk.II Project car for $100! It's in the early stages right now, so there is little else to report for his though..

I am starting to form quite an addiction to these fun little German cars. I did a good job piecing together my suspension bits, and now I am mating a 2.5" downpipe with a magnaflow exhaust. Expecting mild power gains and a much improved exhaust note.

Once I have that taken care of, it's time for some gauges, and a MBC.

Here's another pic, you can see Kuma's noseprints on the rear window..

I can ship pretty cheap... if you're having trouble getting anything, let me know and I'll see if I can lend a hand... even if it's something simple, or can come from a junker... every junkyard over here has hundreds of Golfs, lol

I'll post lots of pics when i get the car (unless he wants something outrageous, like... anything... seeing as it doesn't run...yet :-)

I just dynoed my car yesturday. 471hp and 513 trq. at the wheels.

Wow. Turbo Neon ftw! Mod list? You've done some serious work to get those numbers.. I have seen fast neons (2-300whp range) but your numbers are really serious! Nice job!

Thanks guys, The car has:

t3/t04e with a 50 trim wheel

3 inch exhaust with an e-cutout

cold air intake

large intercooler

rc 750cc injectors

turbo xs dtec fuel computer

aeromotive 700hp fuel pump

cut balance shaft chain

top end oil modifier

I dynoed at 30 psi on that run. I was gunning for 500, but didn't quiet make it.

Here's my new side project :-) cost me a measly $200 and it runs beautifully... needs some TLC and a part here and there (including some very-hard-to-find-in-one-piece trim) and it'll be great! I've been searching and so far I know I can get a few diff color tailights (gonna go with smoked I think cause the altezzas would look like crap on this), Angel Eyes, M3 style mirrors and a lot of performance parts... already ordered a strut bar, Induction kit and a ~30hp chip... oh and the rubber "Flansche" they call it over here, kind of a rubber spacer between the carb and intake manifold... the one that's on it is practically gone and the carb is just propped against the manifold... jumps in the air when you rev the engine... fun to watch :-) and this beast still roars! even after I think it said 284000 km

1991 VW Golf GT Fire and Ice (Fire and Ice being the theme someone applied to it at some point, complete with seats and badges around the car)

and YES it's Purple, you're only cool if your car is purple :-) [O°=X/=°O]
