Got 8800 GTX

Recommended Posts

Just got mine at the door a minute ago, I'll let you know how it goes. ;)

You're in for a pleasant surprise. For me it's not about 3dMark scores or max fps. I haven't even ran any 3dMark benches. Whatever the game is, set in-game settings to max, enable AA and AF at 16x and play. No other card comes close to this type of image quality and smoothness.

Which card did you get? People are reporting that both EVGA and BFG have x64 drivers on the cd.

Evga, no drivers that I see.

Downloaded some random Asus ones that seem to work alright in games, but I don't think they're optimized well. 3dmark06 was about half as fast as it was on my X1800XT, so something is wrong...but it seems to run Fear and Oblivion okay.

I found this on EVGA's forum.

XP 64 drivers are already on the EVGA driver CD --- you just have to manually find the INF file under "driversxp64..."

Touche, a little searching and indeed they are on there. Wonder why they just couldn't have it auto-detect and install the orrect ones instead of telling me they aren't available....
