Guest jaydk Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 when i turn on my computer, the first diagnostic led turns off which indicates that ram are not detected ok.. i have tried with different cpu's, same result, and with different memory modules.. this indicates that the problem is located on the motherboard right? Sharp Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Hello, The memory must always be in the orange slots. And make sure that all 4 power connectors are plugged into the board. Clear the CMOS for a few mins and see what happens. If it is still the same, remove your gfx card and power the pc. Does it do anything different? Sharp Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 CMOS left in the clear position for 10mins? Definitely sure about the 4 power connectors? 3 LEDs lit = CPU detected Last thing to try, 1 memory stick in the top orange slot. Guest jaydk Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 CMOS left in clear for 10 : TRIED 4 power connectors unplugged and replugged in : TRIED one memory stick on top orange slot : TRIED same story as before. 3 LEDS lit, no picture on monitor that does mean CPU detected, checking RAM, right ? Sharp Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Yeah its trying to check the memory. The memory controller is inside the CPU. You said you have tried 2 CPUs, RMA the board.
