Three leds of nothing... or.

Recommended Posts

For the first time the following happened: the system was up running - windows XP - without any strange behaviour; suddenly the of the diagnostic leds on the motherboard turn on. My first reaction was: "ok, now the system froze"! But no, nothing, no problems what so ever. Anyway I restarted the system with these three leds continuously on. The restart went well just it always does, with the only difference that it didn't start the countdown from four but three leds.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just a rare hardware "bug"?

I'm not worried since the system behaves stable and normal. I'm just a bit curious to what can trigger such a thing.

isnt that the standby bug?

or something could be shorting something?

I don't use stand-by mode.

Shortening? I doubt it since the "countdown" went as nothing ever happened.

Let's see if someone else has seen this happen before. I'm still -->

This is actually very funny!!!

You see I'm not alone, I have a wife, who makes my life so much more interesting.

She read your post, SuppA-SnipA, with me and then asked: "What does he mean by 'stand-by'"? Eh, I don't know how to say this but she's full of energy and had managed to send the system to stand-by and back without me knowing it.

This technical question ends very untechnical. The "hardware bug" was my own wife!
