blop001 Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 This is how far i have got so far.... it seems my memory wont go beyond 225mhz. I have tried voltage all the way up to 2.8 and looser timings but no go. So i have used the divider to keep it around 225. With that this is what i have so far... 2.7ghz!! seemingly stable Can i push it more?
blop001 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 bump! please help me push my ram beyond 225mhz.... i would love 238mhz... that would lead me to 2.9ghz territory!! woot!
qlr Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 what's the maximum stabil HTT with 1:1 ratio? 3-3-5-2 latencyes? why? i don't belive setting the Tras so low will have any positive effect on memorye bandwith... but negative effect on stability...try it with 2.5-3-3-6 or so... blop001 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 HI gir! really appreciate the reply... Just to clarify, doesnt the htt need to stay around 1000mhz? I have been using the LDT/FSB divider to keep it around that number....if it helps it did boot with a htt of 1200mhz I was using those timings as i thought it might help me push the ram up a bit.....but it has not worked. Apparantley many ppl can get 250+ on this memory.... cheers!
qlr Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 first, it's spelled Q-L-R not G-I-R.... i'm talking about the fsb, but cpu-z calls it htt...so my bad, i ask again: what is the maximum stabil FSB with 1:1 mem:fsb ratio?
blop001 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 sorry qlr! ok the highest i have had it boot is 220 or 225mhz.... which gave me 2.4 ghz with the x11. cheers
blop001 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Woot!! im at 2.8ghz!!!!! 255 x 11 ldt/fsb x4 dram 05/06 166 divider i have increased the voltage to v1.55 is that safe?
qlr Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 congrats! but try it with a lowe voltage...try it with 1.35 + 110% or so...u don't wanna kill your memcontroller or do you? usually 1.55 for an opty is water territory....wouldn't dream to rise mine over 1.5V. don't know the default voltage for single cored opterons but usually for air cooling +0.20V is the maximum the memcontroller can handle. also i read something about optyes not working well with TCCCs, i don't know about hyunix chips, but the artical stated that BH-5 is best for opterons... i can tell that with my winchester cored 3000+ my geils where running slower (222) and with the opty i reached 233 @ 2-3-3-5, didn't tested the corsairs (TCCC) yet with the winie, but if i find the time i will
