volts on the chipset..

Recommended Posts

what does increasing the volts to your chipset stabilize? I have been browsing through the 754 OC Database and see a lot of 1.8-1.9v on the chipset. I only have a passive Zalman cooler on mine so not sure how high I should be going without a fan, but curious what bumbing the it up a bit more might do for me.

ps-I have to update my sig as well, I have ditched the X-Connect for an OCZ Powerstream 520

hmm... nobody knows for sure? I am not overclocking my ram yet but wasn't sure if the northbridge somehow helped to control that. I know that memory controler is "on die" which I assume means within the cpu itself so I guess I still wonder, what exactly does the northbridge control. I will do some more research to find an answer but hopefully someone can enlighten my feeble mind. :)
