thejamesvolta Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 I have had to reformat my hard drive twice now due to adware/spyware/trojans. My system has a weak immune system What software do you recommend I can use that is very minimal and free and trusty, etc. I do a lot of gaming so I don't want it to use up any resources. Please help!

MACarter02 Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 AVG Free Antivirus. Zone Alarm Free Firewall. Spybot-Search and Destroy. Ad-Aware Personal SE. Those are all you need to keep your computer all clean and fresh as the day it was bought/built. If all else fails and you get totally pwned by some crappy crap: Hijack This will fix your prob. yonton228 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 There are a bunch of threads about this, however for direct links to downloads, look at the top of this forum section and check out the stickies for a thread called the "free software thread" there is alot of good free software in that thread. -yonton228/timmy
Brother Esau Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 NOD32 Antivirus is very light on resources and is better than KAV in that respect both of which I have owned so I can make the comparison. But either or Kaspersky or NOD32 is the only 2 that I will use! Me personally I choose to buy whole licenced version security programs. A couple of really great apa is appdefend and reg defend both of which are written by Ghost Security...Jason who ownes and developes Ghost security software is a fantastic crypto progammer from Australia and used to be at Diamond CS security software of Perths Australia.
