Guest polo Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Hey I just bought an Opteron 175...I could choose between Opteron 175 and 170. 170 was 50 dollars cheaper, so I got an 175...Maybe waste of money?? Somebody know about that stepping? I'm going to overclock this weekend, so I just want to hear if someone has good experience with this stepping? custom_coms Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I think you should run dual prime/Orthos on it and see if its stable.
Prostock62 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I agree with running prime to check if your stable.Looking good if your stable.
Guest polo Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Oh sorry.... Yes I have Dual Prime running for 10 hours on 3008Mhz with 1,375 volt, and it's still running! It's sick low voltage
Gipse Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 3GHz and such a low vcore?!? Amazing chip, congrats! Welcome to the 3GHz-club of DFI-Street. Try to push it further Gipse
Guest polo Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Thanks Gipse And yes...It's amazing with such a low voltage. At 1,375 volt my temps are 30 c idle and 43 c load (Zalman CNPS9500). So it's hot even at so low voltage. But I'll try to push it further.
Gipse Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Do not forget that Expert boards have weak temp-sensors; most of them are 8-10C° off. Using AS5 or Ceramique should give you a small help after some time. This chip sreams for a watercooling setup. Gipse
