Diagnostic leds...

Recommended Posts

Pratically my pc doesnt start anymore, damn  . Strange because just some hours before it was working fine. So i checked the diagnostic leds on the mobo and i noticed that it stops with 3 leds still bright. I suppose those diagnostic leds must be all turned off if it's working fine, am i right?

i checked the manual but it's not very clear about this. When 3 leds are still on means the cpu or ram have problems? right now im here with n old pentium II... hope it's nothing serious...i dont understand whats not working, help plz

Hello,

Make sure than all 4 power connectors are plugged into the board.

Remove 1 stick of memory and place it in the top orange slot.

Clear the CMOS for 10mins

Then power the pc and see what happens.

3 led's indicates a RAM problem not cpu so much, did you move the pc about at all when it stopped working ? might be worth re-seating components as tasr suggested, the video card, and the cpu aswell.. the 24h clear has worked for me in the past it deffinatly worth trying it out.. i know people have alot of problems with cruical ram, do you have any/can you get hold of some to try it with different ram, that would probably be a wise thing to do :)
