thejamesvolta Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 I am only using 1/4 5.25" drive bays and I want to add a fan in that spot at the front. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get on that is pre frabricated. Preferrably black. Thanks!!!
WintersFury Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Look for a Scythe Kama Bay. It has a really low rpm fan installed so you might want to replace it, but otherwise exactly what your looking for.
kaisyo Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 i use icage ... got it for 15 off the egg .. but be warned .. the fan is a lil loud ... spins at 1300 rpm .. 17 db or so ....
boo_masters Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Yes, the Scythe is great except for, well, the fan. They used a fan that is quiet in lieu of performance. Kinda expensive to spend $20 for an adapter and then more dough for a good 120 fan, but if you are serious about your rig then so be it I personally do not see much benefit on my case, but if your PSU has a rear fan and sucks air in from it, and exhausts out the rear, the Scythe Kama will keep it super cooled. boo
thejamesvolta Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 That was my thought, boo. It sucks having to pay $20 just for a bracket and a fan I won't ever use. Maybe I'll jus fabricate one
Yellowbeard Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 A cheap piece of plexi and some zip ties are always good, and cheap too. But, then so am I. Yellowbeard
