4GB Ram Problems

Recommended Posts

I tried installing 4GBs of ram today but the BIOS only reads 3406784K. On top of that the system is unstable and crashes after 5-10 minutes. Could anyone guide me as to what I need to change to get the BIOS to read all 4 gigs and get my system closer to stable?

Set CPC to 2T. You will probably have to increase DIMM voltage a little over what is 2 stick stable. The processor may not be able to run at it's current overclock because of the additional load on the memory controller. Other then that it's all about tweaking the timings.

Thanks, I had heard there was a switch to enable this, but I was searching under the ram timings area (since it seemed like it should be there). After searching the advanced chipset features, I found it and it worked. I haven't run extensive tests on my timings to determine stability but so for it seems at least somewhat stable.
