young-joseph Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 For me, going to a computer store is like an alcoholic going to a bar. I know I shouldn
tazwegion Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Impatience is a symptom of youth... don't be in any hurry to get older, enjoy your youth while you still have it Oh no I'm starting to sound old, maybe even as old as Bishop
ClayMeow Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Impatience has nothing to do with age, but it does have to do with maturity, or lack thereof. Although I'm impatient for some things, I never give in to impatience and make dumb impulsive purchases. I can resist all urges if I want to Whenever I'm in a computer store and see something I think I want, instead of purchasing it, I either write down the info, or try and remember it, and then go home and look online to see if it's a good price or if I should get it somewhere else, or even at all. Those that succumb to temptation face ultimate doom!
Eva_Unit_0 Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 I know how you feel...putting me in a computer store is like putting a crack addict in Colombia. The next thing I know I'm in a checkout line with $100 worth of stuff in my hand. I guess it doesn't help that I just got my debit card. (I don't even have to go through the hassle of stopping at the bank first!)

young-joseph Posted November 6, 2003 Posted November 6, 2003 (edited) After some more thinking I have decided to take the memory back, but Im not sure what I want to do, I could go with 2*256 of the same brand for 170, or I could go with a GB of Centon (generic) for $200. I really want the name brand low latency Corsair, but at the same time I want a GB for bragging rights and the performance increase. Which path would you choose? Edit: I think I'm going to go with the GB of generic centon, 200 doesnt seem like too bad a price, and I was able to OC pretty well with my last stick of generic K-byte Edited November 6, 2003 by young-joseph
Dignan Posted November 6, 2003 Posted November 6, 2003 I know how it feels to give into temptation. I find when I go to a computer store to browse I always grab a cart, not a basket, a cart

d3bruts1d Posted November 6, 2003 Posted November 6, 2003 Yeah, I've done that a time or two... though I've learned to control myself a lot more over the years... guess the wisdom of the ancient bishop and exter has rubbed off on me a bit. Just be glad we're not women. They go to the store for a shirt ($12.00) or something, and come home with $1000.00 worth of junk that will never be worn.
