Now I really wanna know.. how bad is raid 5 vs raid 0+1.... i know one factor is that you don't get sata 3.0 on raid 5.. I'm also looking for redudancy here.. and i'm too cheap to buy a adaptec raid 5 card..hahaha any opinions and is there any one who did benchmarks on the raid 5 setup on the dfi boards? Thanks! yfital Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 its not that you dont get sata 3 on raid5, its that its on a different controller, the sil image controller isnt amazing, and if you have 'nuff cash to buy 4X750 gb HDDs, dont be cheap on a raid controller to control them.
