HelpMeOut Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 Can anyone help me out with this issue I have, I just recently purchased a Via c3 processor (800mhz) any I can't get it to work. I have an intel based motherboard, not that old, but everytime I install the processor, nothing happens, all I hear is the computer starting up like normal, but nothing is displayed on my monitor. There are also no setting or options in my bios to configure or anything. If anyone has any info or anything that could help me like proper jumper settings on anything like that it would be greatly appreciated. My email is [email protected]. HelpMeOut Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 Dont know exactly what type of mother board I have, all I can say is that its an Intel ® 810 serial # 304531-5013076. Computer type is an emachine, bought I used
Some_Guy_ Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 The VIA C3 is not compatible with the Intel 810 chipset. If you must replace the processor (without replacing the motherboard) you need a Celeron (or if it's an 810E, a Pentium 3 will also work). Sorry. bishop245 Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 i810 mobo from an emachine is made by intel, so the bios only supports intel chips i810 mobos by other makers might have bios support for cyrix chips
