Okay, by request I did all the below tests. I'll have an 8800GTX tomorrow that hopefully I'll have time to play with and do the same tests on. (I'm going to return the 8800GTS, so if anybody wants it before I ship her out tomorrow or Friday, let me know before then, you'll save a little, but not much ;))

Keep in mind these are on Windows XP x64, with possibly inferior beta drivers. I haven't done any optimizations to Windows on this install at all, you can still see WLM running in the task bar. I used v.108 for the tests, and the below gear. The overclock on the processor should be attainable for probably 90% of Conroe owners, so it seems a good starting point...

16xQ is basically Nvidias version of adaptive AA, just so you know...

Also to point out, this is ONLY at stock speeds on the video card. I don't think that ntune works correctly for it so its going away. I'd recommend waiting for a better software package to overclock it.

I think I got all those right, if something looks out of place, let me know. However, on the 16x/16xQ setting for 1920x1200, when you compare V-Sync on vs. off, that IS correct. Only one max frame was lost, everything else was identical.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Farcry.................................THE game that got me into all this overclocking nonsense in the first place a year and a half ago. Never did finish the damned game :D I never finish or feel complete with any piece of hardware or rig setup. I still have the savegame file though! I will finish it someday!!!!!!!!

Well I know I was pretty close to the end but I just got so caught up in changing out hardware and testing and tweaking and on and on...

I thought I had a pretty decent computer when I bought the game. And then I installed it. And then it mocked me and my puny system!!! I proceeded to go out and by a new GFX card...then I decided I needed a new mobo. Then of course I needed some new ram. And why not view the game in all it's glory on a beautiful new 24" widescreen. And realize the GFX card you just bought aint gonna hang with all that new found eye ball real estate. So another card is in order of course....and by this time I'm tweakin' and testin' and what not and soon forget all about the damned game that started all of this. I'm more concerned with benchmarks and spend hours upon hours tweaking ram and buying new ram to tweak cuz the ram I just bought don't tweak the way I want it...hmmm...need some new cpu's too cuz they don't clock the way I want em'...and on and on and on...

Look for a massive "For Sale" thread in the coming days ;)
