sixpence Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has any info on OC a 2600+ with the Soyo KT600 Ultra Platinum motherboard? I would like to OC it up to or above a 3200+ I have an Ultra Athlon XP CPU all copper fan, that can be used for a 3200+ It has a 40+ CFM raiting and 6800 RPM speed. I have alot of good case cooling ontop of all that. Thank you for your time.
O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 O/C slowly by increasing your FSB and multiplier (you want to have a low multiplier and high FSB) if possible. Test for stability and heating after every increase.

C0DE Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 (edited) no i didnt.. but without a doubt you can get 3200+ speeds. just set multi down to 11 (from 11.5) and then fsb to 200 (x2). if you get boot error or prime95 doesnt run then up the v-core. for my 2500+ i need 1.75v-core to have a 100% stable 3200+. It seems that is the case with many ppl... if i was familiar with your Bios i could suggest more but dunno.. set agp to 66mhz. set your memory to 100% / sinc with the fsb. rum prime95 for cpu stability and memtest86 (there is an iso if you dont have a floppy) for ram stability. post any more questions if you have any. I am getting my 2600+ tomorrow but wont get my swiftech MCX462-V till friday.. will post my experience when i get it all. Pizoi Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 I'm going to start OC'ing my 2600+ Barton in the next week or so whenever my new case gets in. It would be worth it for you to invest in a better HSF, I personally wouldn't trust anything without a well known name and reputation attached to it for cooling an overclocked Athlon. Let me know how it goes for you, as I can't seem to find anyone who has overclocked a 2600+ Barton. If I start before you, i'll fill you in on how it goes.
