PC 4000 memory recommendation

Hey guys, I need a recommendation of a known good pc 4000 memory solution. I tried for about 3 days to get my OCZ 4000 to work with no luck. Now I admit the problem was likely my inability to get the settings right...so maybe someone could alternately point me in the correct direction there...the timings are 3-4-4-8. Now, I have no Idea what settings would need to be changed to make these dimms work. Every time I installed with one of those dimms in, the install corrupted.

So i guess what I need is either a recommendation of a know good memory solution, or, preferably, help with my settings in bios.

Thanks alot guys.

Will do. Thanks for the info, ppl. I've been a member here for about 2 weeks, and so far I have to say that this community impresses me.

One last question. If I switch from my current dimms back to my OCZ's, will I have to re-install, or will my current install be able to adapt?

I'll do that, for sure, hehe. What I wanna know is, how do people come up with the genie settings for ram kits? Is it trial and error, math-based, or god-like knowledge? After all, I'm here to learn more about my hobby, not just get to the point I can run and be happy. I mean, there's, what, like 30 settings per module, right? So far, the only ones I have a clue on how to determine are CAS latency, RAS to CAS, min. RAS activation time, and row pre-charge...

It's a combination of trial and error and knowledge gained from the experience of trial and error.
