A6437 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Well my friend wanted to buy another widescreen monitor for his DFI system but we're not sure if he can run both monitors to play games or anything like that any help would be appreciated thanks
Sorrento Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 With single video card... yes, you can play with multi monitor support... but only on certain games, since not every game has this ability. I remember someone told me IL2 sturmovik was able to work with two, three and maybe four monitors... the one I am sure of is ST Armada 2. What games does your friend want to try? I would contact the game's support channels to make sure its possible before buying a second large monitor.
UncleDavid218 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I know for sure COD2 and CS:S work with dual monitors... but otherwise I can't help (sorry)

Guest BFG Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 How do you get cod2 to run with dual monitors? Are you just talking about putting it into span mode?
UncleDavid218 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Well I always run my monitors in span mode so in the game it offers a resolution of 3360x1050 without changing any settings I still get 60FPS when I turn the AF down a little
Guest BFG Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 But your cross hairs are in the middle of the monitors right?
peanutplanters Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Ive found the best tool with SLI is to get a Matrox TripleHead2go or DualHead2Go: http://www.matrox.com/graphics/offhome/th2go/home.cfm Screenshots: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/screenshots/ choose "Surround" not Widescreen in the pull down menu

I was about to suggest the exact same thing. Funny thing is, they (dual/triplehead2go) only just recently started supporting widescreen monitors. Before it was only 4:3 monitors that you could side to side upto 3. One suggestion for your friend though, make sure he has a monitor with as thin of a bezel as possible. If it's a thick bezel it doesn't work out too well. Although that is another piece of hardware that required to purchase, but for any gamer, I think it's very much so worth it.
