Stuttering continues!!

Recommended Posts

Now ive proven to myself the problem ISNT related to overclocking so no need to move it to that section

3800+ X2 Tried default , underclocked and overclocked

DFI LANPARTY SLi-D ( latest bios )

X1800XT

Sata 2 seagate ( Brand new drive, just formatted )

No badly running background services

pagefile on seperate drive

Hyper Type R 600watt psu

Defragged , nothing overheating , no spyware or virusus

windows xp + sp2

ati cats 6.9

Dual core optimizer installed and Dual core optimizer uninstalled

Passed prime stable 5hrs

Passed memtest 2hrs

Even put everything to stock CPU and MEM as a test

Symptons : Micro stutters in all my games and sometimes movies

Further detail :

Further testing ie disabled things and such, now its really hard to explain but when you run forward its like ground skips forward , if you walk from side to side you get a skip...

Its almost as if the game is missing a frame , its also something u cant see on video ie through fraps..

Now its either interferance , monitor , psu or something that i may never sort out... Could even be a slight voltage fluctuation!

It isnt just in bf2 either , let me explain something. For example Defcon or oblivion

If i play either of these games at 60hz with my TFT every second step is a skip , like if you count every 3 secs , every 2secs of camera movement would be a skip... At 75HZ the skipping becomes less noticable. This is the same with DOOM3 or PREY every second step it skips, now to fix that id have to use the precise_tic command.. but this isnt possible in bf2!

I would look a the video card and have you done any stability testing lately?

Start by enabling memtest in the BIOS and test #5 and #8 for 10-20 passes each. The all test for 20 passes. This is to rule out your memory been an issue.

Next do Prime95 a blend test for 8hr or so. Then you can test with 3Dmarks.

Put your rig in a signature per the rules.

Just an idea....

remove your X-Fi soundcard from your computer for a day or two and use the onboard audio instead....play games and see the results

Just for the heck of it and let me know how it goes...
