Technohydra Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Heya guys. I just did a preliminary assembly of my new build parts, listed below. There were no HDD or optical drives involved, just video card, memory, and cpu. The result was that I: Got into bios and changed settings, as needed; Ran a full memtest86 with no errors or problems in 31 minutes Got the bare bones to go up to the point where it wants to access the OS and boot The question is, does that mean that my build is stable and correctly configured? The reason for such a strange boot-up, I have no case for the new system as of yet. I don't know if I'm going to build a custom, or purchase one. I'm not going to install an OS untill one of the previous occurs...so, is it a so far so good thing??
Cuttlefish1212 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 You should run MemTest86+ for 6-8 hours to get a full picture of memory stability. 31 minutes won't really tell you if the system is stable or not. Otherwise, it sounds like it's okay.
Technohydra Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I ran memtest for 8 hours, I was just commenting that a cycle of 0-100% occured in 31 minutes, hehe.
