Guest thespin Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I just finished overclocking my AMD X2 4600+ (1/2 the cache) on the Expert and got in up to 2808Mhz. I think with proper cooling this is par. Here is the info: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64786 I would switch the Enermax PSU for one of OCZ's new Gamers ... But BEFORE you go down that road you may want to check Happy's TREATISE here: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...ighlight=begins
Kingfisher Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Shouldn't have any issues really, I would say reaching 2.8 would be a reasonable overclock. Good luck.

Tropikal Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 2400 default to 2700 easy (some heat + voltage in safe zones) 2800 (cpu gets very hot )(may need watercooling..) lots of voltage.. 2900 very hard.......... Thanx for the input everyone, on a second thought i might just scratch the "save the $" idea and i might just switch back to intel which seems to have delivered a nice piece of hardware witht the Core 2.. I ve been reading up all day today (litterally since this morning) including Angry's 50 page post (LOL). Now the issue has moved to a whole new rig entirely, board, dd2 mem, cpu, chipset.. I love to fool around with the hardware and now i have a lot of material to research, any input is VERY appreciated as usual
