Overclocking 3800+ Orleans (single core), 2.9 Ghz Wall?

I have overclocked my 3800+ single core to a stable 2.86 Ghz. I am running my OCZ Gold DDR2 667 memory at 810 Mhz 4-5-4-13, 2T. This seems to be the stable max for my memory. My proc is @ 260*11 @ 1.66v, idle temps @ 34C, Load @ 39C. My HTT Link is @ 1040. I am curious if anyone else with this proc is hitting a 2.9 wall? What is your Vcore at? Any helpful info? I see there is a 7/11/06 BIOS, does this work stable for a lot of other people? If I flash to the july BIOS and I can't get the same stable overclock, can I just flash back to June BIOS? I know, dumb newb question, just want to double check.

Also, I want some feedback on my overclock. Open to suggestions!

Yeah, that's always a problem. I've been doing this...found out what the highest my CPU can go, test it for stability. If it's stable, back off voltage little by little and keep testing for stability.

Side note: This was my first build and obviously my first overclock. Very addictive and time consuming. I love it!!!

Something I am curious about is stepping. What is 'stepping'. My proc has an F2 stepping. What does this mean?

Well your stepping itself is probably longer than that, though I don't know exactly how the AM2's are labeled. Older 939 ones would look kinda like CCB1E 0610 or thereabouts. The number is the day it was made, likely the day that it 'started' production I'd assume. The letters kinda define what exactly the processor is, there's a chart on AMD's website if I recall.

Anyways, the stepping doesn't really mean anything, unless you have a lot of people buying them. Then if you see a trend that a couple of a particular stepping are good or bad, then it's more likely that others with that same stepping will have like properties - i.e. overclocking capabilities.
