d3bruts1d Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 (edited) Nvu "Finally! A complete Web Authoring System for Linux Desktop users to rival programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver. Nvu (pronounced N-view, for a "new view") makes managing a web site a snap. Now anyone can create web pages and manage a website with no technical expertise or knowledge of HTML." From looking at it, it still has a ways to go to catch up with Dreamweaver.... though people like Matt are probably saying, "Who cares.... I use emacs for editing." Let's see how these guys progress tll the release ine 2004. Edited October 31, 2003 by d3bruts1d

Propane Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Yea... it sounds like a good idea but for most linux/bsd users the GNU will seam pointless. They use the OS because its more powerful and it scores at the command line where vim and vi editors rule the world. I will personally always use vim for source editing (i even have the win32 version of vim for the few times i find myself wanting to play CS and want to edit source at the same time)
Pizoi Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 You should try UltraEdit Pro Kevin (Windows), it's way sexier than vim. I recommend it to anyone that programs whenever I get a chance to.
ukmike02 Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 I always use vi(m), you have much more control than using a gui to build pages. There will always be people that prefer using a gui, so nvu will be useful.
