dvd drive ide slave not detected

it's not detected in bios or in windows. can someone tell me what's up?
Replace the cable.

blue connector must be in mobo, dvd drive has to be on the last black connector as as slave, middle connector goes as master if u want anything there

they both work by themselves. what's weird is that when i put one in master and one in slave my computer won't start up.

Reminds me on my old nF2 Lanparty B board... It may sound strange to you, but try a cmos clear. This helped me with my old board.

what? since when was middle master and the last one master? i thought it was the other way around.

 

What is the drive set to? CS, master or slave? Usually what you descrived is because 2 devices are trying to be slave or master...
