allthatwhichis Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 ohhhhhhhhh. i'm using a x2 cpu. my mobo is not compatible with x2. would this explain a black screen? I have an SLi-DR and have had no problem running an opty 165. I also have two 7900gts and have never heard a high pitched "whine"... I also had two 6600gts that I watercooled. There's not much room but there is some.

UncleDavid218 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Sounds like you should disable SLI and clear the CMOS 2 LEDs would indicate a video problem 4 LEDs on = Power applied, checking CPU 3 LEDs on = CPU has been detected OK, checking RAM 2 LEDs on = RAM has been detected OK, checking VGA 1 LED on = VGA has been detected OK, entering BIOS 0 LEDs on = System has booted to the Operating System. fartonmyear Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 i took everything apart and put it back together and it works now...........how lame how do i enable sli. do i have to install the driver first?
UncleDavid218 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Just make sure you have all video and motherboard drivers installed and move the jumpers on the motherboard per user manual instructions. Of course use the bridge, too. Out of curiosity, what PSU are you running?
fartonmyear Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 enermax noisetaker 600W. what about stuff in the bios. what do i do there? i see something like "sli broadcast" and also the options in the overclock bios page, 16x, 8x, stuff like that? UncleDavid218 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 On the SLI-DR you shouldn't have to change anything in the BIOS, but it's been a long time since I've used SLI so I could be wrong (I very well could be). Just follow the user manual. I've got an SLI-DR and manual laying around here somewhere... but where? I'll look if you don't have the manual for some reason. fartonmyear Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 i have the manual. all it says is to move the jumpers and add the bridge.
UncleDavid218 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Alright then do that, you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck!
Daddyjaxx Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 I set the SLI Broadcast Apperture and 8x 8x in the BIOS, but I have an Expert. I don't think you can do anything in the BIOS for the PCI Slot speeds. You have to set the jumpers manually.
