Mako3 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Alright thanks guys. Instead of the 520w he's getting the GXS 600w. And instead of 4GBs of ram, he's getting the 2x 1GB sticks of OCZ Gold GX DDR500. And he's getting the Opteron 175 instead of the 165. -Mako3

Thraxz Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I'd avoid the 175 it most likely will not be a better chip with OC in mind. Look into the CFX3200 and a pair of cross fire xt's witht he money you saved on the RAM and processor.
Mako3 Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 ah man, yesterday he already ordered the DFI Ultra-D. He's buying everything as he gets his paychecks, and I think today he said he was going to buy the cpu. Which would be that Opty 175, I wonder if he's willing to spend the extra money and get an FX-60, lol. And yes, I'll be helping him in OC'n, which I may need your guys help since I'm not used to what Optys are able to do voltage wise. Thanks, Mako3
p0tter Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I would readup on the 7950GT coming soon. Get a 165 or a X2 3800, I wouldnt bother spending more money for a higher stock speed. The 165 and X2 3800 have been hitting around 2.6 or better.
