boywander Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 ...whatever BLAG is - distro, right? I'll have that free True Image too, for a couple 80Gb SATA HDDs I've found for an absolute song. Nother one, not really S/W but: 'papes from http://deaddreamer.com (kind of twisted, these) and http://exoteric.roach.org (fractals)
sswilson Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Sweeet. I just got my free product key and downloaded it. *thumbs up* Where did you find the dl for true image 7? I jumped through the hoops and all I can find is downloads for trial versions of 9.
boywander Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Acronis site->Login->My Account->TI7.0->Full history of changes->Download Got some of the papes in a slideshow on the MBM screensaver (resized to my res cause the stretch function is wonky), with a lil transparency. The MBM .scr rocks.

Cooler Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Alibre Design Xpress here ... http://www.alibre.com/xpress/ Unfortunately, I had nothing but troubles with Alibre. Not because the software, but with an avalanche of spam from them (and their supposed "partners"?) that started to invade my mailbox. It took about two months to stop that spam attack. It took half of my sanity, too... Ok, I just popped in to say thanks for this thread! It will become handy soon at my next software update round. KimTjik Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Games: I forgot one of the greatest GUI for chess-engines Arena. Arena works with different protocols like UCI (I think this is the smoothest and best) and Winboard among others. You can find a whole lot of free UCI engines on the net: usually the developers make one of their previous engines available, since they actually compete with the latest against other developers. The engines are rated and behave tactically differently, so there's a whole lot to learn about chess. Link: http://www.playwitharena.com/ Extra information: even though Arena is for Windows it works great through Wine without any need for tweaks.
