Guest Halvis Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I second everything Dave says, almost always. I have personal experience with the "Fortron Blue Storm 500W (AX500-A): $75 Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-480 ATX12V 480W: $80" and can whoheartedly advise on both, although Im sure the rest he metioned were equally, or moreso appropriate. THAT said, I would advise if you OVERDO ANYTHING, in your build... go BIG on your psu. Processors, Video cards, RAM is ALWAYS outrunning the advances on PSUs. If you got the OCZ or FSP 600 or 700 watt psu's, they would probably suffice for the CPU, RAM, Video Card... that your gonna buy NEXT year. jmho, Hal
suedenim Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 There are posts elsewhere suggesting that you avoid the OCZ GSX 600 if you are SLI'ing some of the top end cards (probably applies to XFire too). Also OCZ offer good support. I bought one new from eBay. DOA but OCZ let me RMA no questions asked (shame postage to the US is so steep as it wiped out the savings I made)
