Case Modding Help Needed!

Hi:

I'm new here!!!

Anyways, I have a few Case modding questions.

I have a Antec SLK2600AMG MiniTower, and I really like it. However, I'm going to seriously o/c that sucker, and I know that one intake fan and one exhaust fan is not going to cut it. So my questions are:

1) I'm going to mod my side panel and add in a plexi-glass window. I'm thinking of adding an exhaust fan on the side panel, right next to the heat sink and fan for the processor, so that the hot air can quickly get out of the case. Does this work?

2) ... and if it does should i put:

one intake fan on the bottom left of the sidepanel?

one intake fan on the bottom right of the sidepanel?

the exhaust next to the processor?

... and one extra exhaust on the top of the pc?

Thx

Ricky

i would only put an exhaust fan on the side panel and one on top then put some intake fans on the front and some exhaust in the back

my setup right now is 2 intake in the front 2 exhaust in the in the back and one on my window on the side panel and i find it's working good

Yea ... but i have a small case, only one intake in the front and one exhaust in the back. This is why I need put a lot of fans on the sidepanel.

...I'm thinking of adding an EXHAUST fan on the side panel, right next to the heat sink and fan for the processor, so that the hot air can quickly get out of the case. Does this work?

Make sure the side panel is blowing IN on the HSF, cold air from the outside of the case will be sucked in by the HSF. One on the top should be blowing OUT, the rising heat will be removed from the top of the case.

yeah, the general consensus here seems to be to have the side fans on intake (along with the front). Back would be exhaust, and top as well (a blow-hole).

The comp i'm actually on right now (not the one in my sig) had the same prob as you...it's an older antec case and so only had spots for one fan in the front and one in the back. I have both of those as intake, and have a dual-fan psu to suck the air out. This is only running a Duron though, which is cooler, so i wouldn't attempt it with a massively oc'd athlon. In another computer i built, i remedied the intake problem by buying the Zerus TwinTurbo Drivebay fan ( think it's called). It fits into any external 5.25" slot, and brings in 70something CFMs i believe. I put it in the lowest 5.25 slot so that it brings the air where the mobo is, plus i have the normal intake fan on the front of the case (towards the bottom). This allowed me to keep the back fan as exhaust. From what i remember, the zerus thingy isn't too loud either. It's not with me right now, so i couldn't tell you exactly. I got it from tigerdirect for maybe $20 or something.

but if ur blowing air into the heat sink, wouldn't it just blow hot air back in the heat sink???
