UncleDavid218 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Go see the card to verify that it works, if it does, why the hell not! Though I would be weary of his intentions, as davidhammock200 said.
allthatwhichis Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Is there any chance you can go over to his house and watch him play a game on the card or something similar? I'm not sure how Craig's list works, but if you can work it to where you feel ok with it good deals DO come around... David has a point... Make sure you feel ok about going, and maybe have a big friend come along...

Guest GripS Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 That would be sweet if it is true. I'd never buy computer components used off of e-bay or craigslist myself. Too much risk involved and you can't tell by it's looks if it's messed up.

Smoken Joe Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Sounds like a date. J/K If it is a good naborhood and not too far I would go. Like anything you can call the areas local PD to see if it is a safe area.
21Motorcraft Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 If I have to "pack heat" or get a police escort to get a deal on a video card, I'm gonna wait and pay more somewhere else....JMHO

watsonte Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 A great way to get robbed! Google for "craigslist+robbery". I am in agreement with David on this one.....really its a terrible idea to go to someones house if you dont know them and the only interaction you have had is email..... Looks can be very misleading.... So dont risk it...a 7900 for $160 might cost you a little more than the price listed... Not worth it... red930 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 If you are worried take someone w/you and don't take cash,it's not like you're going to buy crack. I don't see how it's much different than seeing something in the local newspaper want ads and going to check it out If it's in a good area don't sweat it,just use some common sense, I think we worry too much some times
