I read the post below about someone trying to share an internet connection.

I want to do the same with xp sharing to linux.

I set the xp box to share but when I activate the ethernet on the RH linux box it says it cannot, becasue it cannot determine the ip information for eth0 :(

Anyone know whats going on here???

Im a noob when it comes to linux :P

Easiest (and best) way to share internet on 2 computers is via a router. Using ICS, you put extra strain on the windows system.

Sounds like you may have eth0 set to DHCP. You want to disable DHCP and set it up with static information.

The DNS and Gateway for the Linux system will be the IP of the windows system. Subnet will be the same for each systems. And the Linux and windows system will have different IPs.
