cypher Posted July 9, 2002 Posted July 9, 2002 Evertime i try to play half life Cs online it says "invalid cd key" and the thing is that i am using a original box cd key.....so i try and use a cd key from a key gen but the same message occors everytime i try and connect to a game! d3bruts1d Posted July 9, 2002 Posted July 9, 2002 Did you enter the CD key exactly? Dashes and all? - Not at the house, and don't remember if the CS CD has dashes or if that was just HL... hiph0pan0nym0usx Posted July 9, 2002 Posted July 9, 2002 first of all... r u really using the cd key on the case? if u r it WILL work. second, cd key generators do not work; most of them spit out random and wrong numbers, or if there is a correct 1 every1 in the world is trying to use it. Alot of people have generated so many keys.. and they try to get online with it and then that person with the real key goes online.. the other personw ill get kicked off then a log is generated.. and then they kinda kill that key and sometimes that key wont work anymore.. VolcomPimp Posted August 6, 2002 Posted August 6, 2002 I think there's a number you can call... and ya the key gen's don't work... it used to be there was a patch but that was a old old version of cs... but ya, if it was deleted see if you can get a hold of sierra... I used my friends old key for a bit, (I built him a new comp and I think his extigy came w/ CS Retail), and my bro gave me his old emachine which had Half-Life on it, so I stole the key from the registry since he doesnt play anymore... Im cheap... Someone said it kicks the person off if you're both on, I think it might only be if you both are on the same server... but thats just me I dono...
