Angry_Games Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 What we are trying to accomplish is a show of appreciation for the man that has given us all a 'home away from home'. Since the release of the conroe, Intel has failed to supply DFI with a chip to help with the support of the platform (well, i believe 1 was sent to taiwan, but not into H_G's hands). With a bunch of users jumping on the Conroe bandwagon, its really important that we get a chip into the right hands so that those users' questionsproblems dont go unheard or unanswered. Basically, what i am asking is... How many users would be willing to give back to the place that has given you countless answers to your questions, treated you with respect as long as you treated others the same way, and has flat out been the best support site for any product that i have ever seen. I for one am willing. I am not asking anyone to break the bank here, doing some rough math with prices off the egg, it would take about 45 ppl to donate $10 to get 1 E6600 (with the 4MB cache) and with the sheer amount of users here on the street, i dont think that is a tough feat to accomplish. A few users have already expressed that they liked the idea but a Poll was suggested to make it more known and to get more opinions on what is trying to be done. LINKAGE So im putting up a poll with a yes or no answer. Please also include the amount that you would be willing to part with (dont go crazy and say you will put in $100 or something, this should really be a group effort and not be left up to a handfull of people) and once we see that we have enough people that say yes, we can figure out the fine details to do with collection, purchase, and shipping with the help of the mods (probably be best to have one of the mods, just because of the reputation factor...i doubt everyone would send ME $10 for example...cause who am I?). So i will stop here by saying Thanks for reading and have a nice day! I'd like to say thank you, and Rgone of course says thank you. There are two ways to donate. First is paypal: http://www.angrygames.com/conroe_fund.htm This is the preferred method, as it is instant and secure. Second is direct to my address: Travis Hill c/o DFI-Street 2905 N Hampton St Boise, ID 83704 please no personal checks. Again we prefer Paypal, but some might not be able to do this. If you do send money snail-mail, please be sure to post here that you did so we can assure you that it arrives, and to add it to the total tally. Once again we very much appreciate this from you guys. We'll do our best to continue to give great support and tutorials, etc! Angry_Games Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 argh stupid paypal *sigh* well, it has your personal details, which is important, but here's what you do If you donated, send me an email (link is right in my sig) and tell me your real name/address, and your forum username. That way I can match it to every donation so I know who donated in the event I either win the lottery and give you all a Conroe back, or we end up giving them away back to the guys who donated. I'll keep the first post updated so we can see when to close up and stop accepting (we only need enough to get 2 E6600's).
